For notebooks, a “limited number” of batteries can overheat, resulting in a fire hazard. Apple will replace the batteries free of charge. According to Apple, this can take two to three weeks. Whether the device is affected can be seen from the serial number.
Apple did not specify the number of affected devices. According to the authorities, there are around 63,000 such devices in China. In the People’s Republic there were six “incidents” with such heated laptops.
