My fish is little, and quite short, like the polycentropsis abbreviata, but has the markings and coloring of a climbing perch, but if its a climbing perch, why would the fish store have it labeled as a african spotted leaf fish?
Spotted African Leaf Fish or Leopard Gourami (Ctenopoma Actirostre)
Hardy and long-lived (up to 15 years), this is a suitable fish for aquarists who want to venture into the more unusual species. This fish goes under several common names in addition to Leopard Ctenopoma, including African Spotted Leaf Fish, Spotted Climbing Perch, Leopard Bushfish and Spotted Ctenopoma. Although closely related to the true climbing perches (Anabas species), it is not known to leave the water and traverse land.

I've kept Spotted African Leaf Fish, and I like them, but I wouldn't keep one (or more) with the combination of fish you have in that tank. A 50-gallon is big enough for the Leaf Fish*, but you do have some compatibility problems there.

You can find leopard ctenomas under a variety of names. The least logical has to be spotted climbing perch. All the anabas I've run across are nasty little critters. Ctenopomas (spotted and otherwise) are more on the friendly side. Other names include bush fish, bush master, leopard bush fish, African spotted fish, African spotted gourami, leopard gourami, Congo gourami, Congo perch, and often African leaf fish. They do resemble leaf fish in shape and attitude. This is my Ctenopoma Actirostre, aks Leopard Bush Fish, Leopard Gourami, African Leaf Fish, Spotted Leaf Fish...
I also have Snakeskin Gouramis, Congo Tetras, A BGKF and some Dwarf African Clawed Frogs. So does anyone know much about these cuties? My LFS has them and they’re adorable and I want to maybe start a tank for them later on after I’ve gathered enough info on them.
